How to get to Zanzibar

To get to Zanzibar there are only two ways, that are by air and through the sea.  

Flying to Zanzibar

Domestic flights are available from all airports in Tanzania flying to Zanzibar International airport, apart from airports in Tanzania. You can also catch a flight at Jomo Kenyatta International airport in Nairobi and Moi International airport in Mombasa, there are many domestic airlines offering flights to Zanzibar, these flight companies include Air Excel, Air Tanzania, Auric Air, Coastal Aviation, Flydubai, KLM (SkyTeam), Oman Air, Precision Air, Regional Air, Turkish Airlines (Star Alliance), Utair Express and Zanair.

From the airport, there are taxis always ready to take you to your hotel or resort.

Boarding a ferry

A ferry operates daily routes between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, the ferry runs from 4: am to 12 P.M, the ferry station is located in downtown Dar es Salaam. From Dar-es- Salaam to Zanzibar is a 70 minutes rids, the ferries have both class and economy class sections.
